Yakima Visit

We had a fantastic time in Yakima when we went to visit Great Grandma Davenport, and the rest of the Yakima clan. We enjoyed visiting Grandma, and enjoyed the dinner she treated us to. We stayed a couple of nights at Uncle Jim and Aunt Sharon's house. The highlight of our stay there was when Aunt Sharon brought in one of her little lambs for us to see. Baby girl (the lamb) was darling. It was awesome. We also had a great time picking raspberries, swimming, and visiting with everyone. The kids were very sad to leave, and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Fourth of July

We had a great time this fourth of July. Our home owners association had a great party. My favorite part was the bungee bounce. We ate lots of cotton candy and snow cones. There was a petting zoo that Colin especially loved. Britton and Taylor ran around with their friends going on all the different rides. It was fantastic.

We enjoyed a neighborhood block party that evening. We ate BBQ, had a massive water fight, and lit fireworks. (I should say Tim was designated the firework lighter, it took about three house.) The smoke was thick in our neighborhood, and the air was full of fireworks. I'm not convinced that most of the ones we saw were legal.

Snoqualmie Falls

We live very close to Snoqualmie Falls. We spent an afternoon visiting. We hiked down to the lower viewing deck, then the kids (minus Teagan) and Tim hopped the fence and went all the way down to the water (with every other adventurous visiter.) Teagan was napping in the back pack, so I stayed with her while they explored. Colin loved running around off the trail as we hiked back up. We finished the excursion off with popsicles.

Colin's 6th Birthday Celebration

Colin boy had 20 kids over to celebrate his birthday. It was a bit crazy, but was fun. Grandma and Aunt April came to help out, which saved the day. Colin chose a Super Smash Brothers (Nintendo) theme. We played games, made snow cones, painted, ate goodies, and ended with a treasure hunt where our "Link" (Britton sporting his Halloween costume from last year) passed out balloon swords at the end.

Teagan has Teeth

Teagan has two bottom teeth. She loves to use them to eat. She wants nothing to do with baby food, but seems to like EVERYTHING else. She's 7 months old now.

April 1st

So, I brought the majority of our kids to tears this year when I showed them this brochure for "chore camp." I told them that I'd signed them up for three weeks this summer. The funny thing is that I actually think a camp that would teach my children to do their chores better is a great idea, especially for children who get misty eyed at the prospect of said camp. Hmmm, maybe I should start one myself. Any takers?

Blog Setting

I was having difficulty adding readers, so I must have been doing something wrong. I thought I had added a lot of people, but kept getting emails saying our friends couldn't get on our blog. Life's a bit busy right now, so I guess I'll go back and figure it out later. For now, I'm not restricting the blog settings. I would like to make it private again eventually, but... I'll just add that to the growing list of things I need to do that aren't getting done. :)

Tay and Teagan

Taylor loves helping to give Teagan baths. She's thoroughly enjoying having a sister.

My roomie, Gina, tagged me.

This is a picture of my family in front of a Catholic mission in Bagamoyo, Tanzania. Britton's 4th grade class had an overnight school field trip there to see all the slave history sights. We drove to Bagamoyo as a family later on, and he served as our tour guide. It was a great trip, though we all swam in the murky swimming pool at our hotel, and got sick from it. The Dr. Livingstone Museum was especially neat.

Here are the directions:

1. go to your my document/my pictures

2. go to your sixth file

3. go to your sixth picture

4. blog about it

5. tag six people

I'll tag Shawna, Holly, Annette, Courtney, Julia, and Stacia.

Switching Blog Settings Soon

I've been going back and forth on whether we should make this blog private or not. I'm planning on switching it over to that setting in a little while. Just let me know if you want me to add you to the list of people who can view it. I'm happy to add anyone we know, or even people our friends know. :)

Hmmm, have I mentioned that our entire house has white carpets. What a joy they are to me.

Pulling It Together

Colin made me smile the other day when he was getting whiney, and I told him he needed to check his voice. He looked at me with a very serious expression and said, "OK, I think I can pull it together and turn this around." Love that boy!

Snow!

We love living where there is snow. This was taken close to our house. It's great when it snows here because all the neighborhood kids go sledding most the day at the park right by our house. They made a ramp out of snow.

Teagan in her blessing dress

Gramma made the dress and bonnet, Christy tatted all the lace. (Christy had several late nights before the blessing, including the night before.)
